How these Auto Reset Chips work: 

These chips will automatically reset themselves every time you either take them out of your printer or you turn your printer off & on again. When they read full, they actually read 90%. When they read empty, your cartridge will be very close to empty. If your print monitor says one of your cartridges is empty, when you go to refill it, the manufacturer suggests you follow one of the following steps toassure the chips work perfectly:

• Take all the cartridges out at this time and refill all of them, then put them back in. 
• Refill the one empty cartridge, then turn off the printer and turn it back on again, thus resetting all the chips at once. 
• Take out all the cartridges, fill the one empty one, then put them all back in the printer, thus resetting all the chips at once.  

Because to get the best performance you need to reset all the chips at the same time, it is still okay if some of the cartridges are only partially full. What will happen is at first the printer will see them as all 90% full, then as you print a couple of pages, they ink monitor will catch on to what is really in each tank.
