RKS
AUTO RESET CHIP QUESTIONS
When you receive your RKS Auto Reset
Chips, please read the instruction brochure before
opening the packages. Just in case you are one of the
folks who says when all else fails read the instructions,
I am adding two important warnings right here.
These two warnings are most
important:
Please pay attention before opening the
anti-static packages that your auto reset chips come
in.
1) Before you
take the chips out of the packaging, please be
certain that you are not
loaded with static electricity. One touch
of finger filled with static electricity will
immediately destroy the chips..
If you are unsure of your static
electricity status, please "unload" yourself. This is
simple to do. Touch metal, like your computer case,
Click
here to learn all about electro static discharge
and how to avoid it.
2) Never use a
resetter on these Auto Reset Chips because this
will completely destroy them.
TIPS
The Auto Reset Chips reset the ink level
indicator to 'Full' again when no voltage level is applied to
the contacts of the chip. Because of
this we recommend you never turn your printer off, keep it in
standby mode.
When you switch off the printer
completely (and of course this will happen with a power outage)
the ink level of all cartridges is initially reset to full
again. However, after a few pages of printing, the printer
recognizes a possible low ink level, and the ink level
indicator automatically starts to operate normally
again.
Here are some customer questions we have
received regarding the new RKS Auto Reset Chips. Please
note these chips are not ciss auto chips. These chips are
programmed with full ink control, so they will activate
your ink monitor. They know the levels of ink in each
cartridge, and they will automatically reset themselves
when you refill the cartridge. You never have to remove
them from the printer to do this.
CUSTOMER
QUESTIONS
Q: Can I
use Canon original ink cartridges as well as non-oem,
re-manufactured or
other compatible cartridges simultaneously with these
new Auto Reset Chips?
A: Yes, original and compatible
cartridges can be used in any combination.
Q:
Does the product come with easy to read
instructions?
A: Yes. You will receive a sheet with
simple instructions in English, and German
Q: Will the cartridges be
emptied completely or – like with other systems –
will a certain amount of ink remain in the tank that I
have to discard?
A: The cartridges will be emptied
completely, just like original cartridges.
Q:
Do I need a separate chip for each
cartridge?
A: Yes, you
will receive 5 auto reset chips which are clearly marked for
each different color cartridge.
Q: Do I
have to change the settings of my printer or my printer
software (printer drivers)?
A: No. All settings remain
unchanged.
Q: What
happens to the manufacturer’s warranty if I use these RKS Ink
Control, Auto Reset Chips?
A: The manufacturer’s warranty
remains intact.
Q: If
only 2 to 3 original cartridges of my CANON Pixma 4200 are
empty, can I exchange the
empty ones with the new auto reset chips, and leave the
original ones in its
place?
A: Yes.
You can alter some of them and leave the original
cartridges in its place.
Q: Are
these new ink Control Auto Reset Chips compatible with Windows
Vista?
A: Yes. They will work
with all versions of Windows, all Operating systems including
MAC OS
Q: What
exactly do I need to do in order to get these new Ink Control
Auto Reset Chips to work,
and is there a limited amount of times that they will
work on each tank?
A:
All you have to do is attach them to any compatible, oem or
other refillable cartridge.
Or if you get the pack with the extenders, then just put
them in the extenders and put them
in your printer, and then you never have to take them
out again! Once these are in place, they
will recognize when the cart is low, and when it is
empty Then the amazing thing is they will
recognize when the cart
is full again! You can take your cartridge out and refill it,
or you can
get a refillable cartridge that you refill right in your
printer. We will have these available shortly.
Q:
Are the chips
interchangeable,
A: The chips from any canon ink cartridge are specific to the
color. For example the CLI-8Y,
is a cli-8 yellow color chip, and can only work for the
yellow cartridge in your printer. If you
put it where the Magenta cartridge goes, your printer
will not recognize it. It is the same with
these new auto reset chips. When you get your set, you
will see each chip is in its own
anti-static package labeled with with the exact cli-8 y,
k, m, c, or pgbk. You must put the
chip in the proper location in the printer for it to
work. The best way to do this is to either
get a set of chip extenders and label each, or get a set
of refillable cartridges that have the
labels right on them. Then you will not make any errors
if you pull them out.
Q: Is
there any limit as to how many times these will automatically
reset?
A: No, they like the original Canon Chips are not limited to a
secific number of resets.
Q:
Will refilling my inkjet cartridge void the manufacturer's
warranty on my printer?
A: No. Refilling your inkjet
cartridge does not tamper with your printer in any way, and
therefore
does not effect your warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss
Warranty Improvement Act, the
consumer is allowed the right to choose any consumable
they desire for their printer,
and allowed to make any repairs to the printer cartridge
they deem necessary. This allows
for the use of refill kits, compatible cartridges, ciss
systems, and of course our new RKS
ink control auto reset chips.
